I recently purchased a used bumper pull 1998 Loadmaster 16 foot flatbed car hauler. I can't seem to find any detailed information on this trailer when using VIN lookups or even general searching. VIN lookup gives me a model number of 22023, but that doesn't bring up any info when I search with that. The only Loadmaster company website I can find is one that builds aluminum boat trailers.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for finding an owners manual and service manual? Is Loadmaster still in business, or is the aluminum boat trailer company the same group?
Is there some specific reason you need to locate the manufacturer? Most trailers are just tube and box steel/aluminum beams with universal parts such as axles, hubs, wheels, lights etc... parts sourced everywhere. Nothing on it is proprietary except a name plate maybe.
looks like 5 lug wheels, guessing 5 on 5 1/2 which probably makes them lipert axles all the 5 lug axles I own are 3,500 pound rated. you have 2 so 7,000 lbs total, trailer probably around 3,000 lbs empty. that leaves you 4,000 lbs of useful load.

I like to have the details for my stuff. However, I didn't realize trailers were somewhat generic in regards to parts. Thanks for the info.
Are there any trailer parts websites that you fellas recommend? This trailer is missing the safety brake unit, and has a set of mis-matched wheels. Two wheels are proper trailer wheels, three wheels are pickup wheels with different backspacing (they stick way out past the fenders). It doesn't help that there are 235/75R15 tires on them. Lug spacing is 5x5", so that sucks. All my extra wheels around here are Ford.

Being that Winter is settling in, it makes planning for things much worse since I have to wait a good four months before I can work on this trailer. I've got a matching set of steel wheels (5x5.5"). Planning to switch the hubs over to 5x5.5" bolt pattern. I'm going to assume that it will need brakes since the entire breakaway system is missing. Add in rewiring, possibly new lights, a few repairs/modifications to the front of the frame, maybe a battery box/winch setup, and new tires. I guess I'll just add this trailer to the long list of projects that I already have going on.
Speaking of tires, what do you fellas recommend? Keep in mind, this trailer probably won't get used much to justify $200/piece tires.
