10 minutes after fueling up I’m driving down the highway about 65mph and I experience what feels like a miss fire in a gas engine car. Just one. Now I’m super alert because I’m about to drive through some country with no cell service. 20 minutes later it happens again. Nothing odd on the tach and I can accelerate the truck with no issues. Then I drive 200 more miles no issues whatsoever.
Went start it the next day, no problems and again on a short drive no problems.
What do guys you think? Contaminated fuel (water) or a sign of more problems in the future.
If it is a quick miss you may not see/catch it. Mine did that several years ago and it ended up being the CPS. Yours may be fuel related but keep an open mind.

I’ll probably just replace the CPS. Easy and cheap enough.
Could it be air?
If there is a minor fuel line leak allowing air to reach the injectors you could get an intermittent skip.
When or did you ever change the high pressure fuel lines? Check for a corroded fuel line from the tanks could also be a source of air.
Follow up.
Changed the CPS with the latest Motorcraft version. The one I took out was the old black one so it couldn’t hurt to update.
Since the original hiccup I’ve driven 600 miles (400 since CPS) with no issues. Including a 19f start with no plug in.
Im still thinking it was contaminated fuel…..
