1FD = Ford Motor Co USA, incomplete vehicle
X = Class 7--26,001-33,000 lbs GVWR, air brakes
R80 = LN800 diesel (Badged and otherwise referred to as LN8000)
U = Caterpillar model 3208N or 3208T V8 diesel
or = Detroit 8V-92TA or 8V-92TTA V8 diesel. (Same engine code)
3 = Ford use, ignore
C = 1982 model year
V = Kentucky Truck Plant
A21929 = serial number
I'd bet you already know if it's a Cat or Detroit. Trans and axle info are on your white plastic certification lable, if still present and readable.
