Hi folks, reaching out with a question, I have a 1989 F-250 7.5L and I am replacing the water pump. My understanding after reading up a bit is that the procedure from ford, which I did read about in the paper Haynes manual that I was using for this job, is to pull the timing cover and assemble it to the water pump on the bench, then put them both back together onto the engine. I have the water pump off at the moment, but there is a piece of metal underneath that appear to be broken, and I'm trying to identify it (see picture). Any advice as to how to proceed would be most welcome. Thanks,
