Exhaust Temp
Im just curious as to what may be causing my increased exhaust temperature. I bought a 84' f250 a month ago, it has a 6.9idi and the engine completely rebuilt 4500 miles ago and a banks turbo professionally installed. When I first bought it, the exhaust temp never got over 600 degrees, but recently I've had it reach about 950. I just want to know, is it something I need to worry about? and what might be causing it? I've put 2000 miles on it since I bought it, and it wasn't until this passed week that I saw the increase in temperature.

cooler air is denser air and makes more power. more power means higher EGT's. 950 is nothing to worry about. as long as you keep EGT's under 1,100-1,200 degrees you are golden.

600 degrees! Come on old timer, press that skinny a little. 
Air filter staying clean? I'm intercooled and I flirt with 1k EGT's everyday. The only time I'm seeing 600 degrees is empty on the flats, or rolling downhill.
