From what I have read, the T19 have a sychronized 1st gear and PTO covers on both sides. The T18 doesn't have a synchronized first gear and only has a PTO port on the passenger side.
Were you able to shift into 1st gear while the truck was still rolling without it grinding?
Do you have PTO covers on driver's and passenger side of the transmission?
I like that! Removing the shifter on the NP435 is never fun. That will make it a (w)hole lot easier...
Yes T-18 thread with a mini NP-435 high jack.
It sure does, 4th or R and just a few smacks (while holds the ends of the board) 3rd smack hold down the board flat and twist counter clock wise, should pop right up.
This is a pic of my T18 when first removed from the 72. Then an after pic from when I was ready to reinstall. The point of pic was that this is a 1973 tranny according to the tag when I removed it. I cant find the pic in my files but I will move the pic from my build thread and add. As to the OP, your trans pic say T18 on it. So, I would say left/up, you are in granny first. Mine doesnt say T18 on the cover, it is on the side in the bottom picture. Also, my vent is on the side of the top cover as opposed to the center like the pic from the OP.
