I have seen similar posts but believe this situation is unique. 2000 Excursion Limited everything works perfectly except none of the windows (even the rear side windows) operate from any switch. Dome light, radio, etc. all functioning. Checked fuses and relay's. Checked for broken wires between the drivers door and jam under and around the rubber boot. The metal 30 amp fuse in the power distribution box gets very hot. There is no voltage to the light blue w/black stripe wire at the drivers door switch.
Any suggestions for next steps would be appreciated.

my manual is for 2002 which I have been told is different than yours.
but I belive the doors are controlled thru the VSM behind the radio, on the firewall.
it has a habit of getting wet.
a 30 amp fuse getting hot should be easy to trace with a Clamp ON ammeter,
like this
model # google it, they sell it direct cheaper than Amazon, shipping free

Cursious, the thread title says "Excursion", while you mention "Expedition" in your post.

Has to be a slip of the tongue, Excursion is the Same as all of the F-series trucks, as the images state.
I would guess the Expeditions also use the same schematics.
I can't see Ford making a special wiring harness just for one model of truck, when they use the same Electrical manual for all of the SD trucks and Excursions....

My mistake, I have both vehicles - same year. My problem with the windows are on the Excursion. And I reread the post over - so much for reading skills!
John, let me digest this a bit a buy the tool you suggested - that is certainly a device I do NOT have. I do know that every window is controlled or runs through the master switches on the drivers door, but there is no power running to that lt blue/black stripped wire. I will also print the wiring diagram out so I can study it - seems a bit complicated (probably not my strong suit). Is what you documented for a 2000 Excursion or a 2002 (since you said they are different)?.
John, I ordered the tester as you described, it should arrive tomorrow. I spent a bit of time this afternoon going through the wires between the door and the jam because I think I am missing something but they are solid. I also question if there is another fuse I am not checking, like in your diagram 100-2, it appears there are two 10amp fuses in the power distribution box under the hood, but I don't see that looking at the owners manual or under the panel.
I guess it still doesn't speak to why the 30amp fuse is getting so hot when I turn the key on and there seems to be no power on the lt/bl w/black stripe wire. I'll give it another go tomorrow after the meter arrives...
Thanks again
Ray

the Electrical Manual that I have, is for the year 2002, which happens to be the year model of my Excursion.
the web and FTE tells me there are changes in the schematics with the 2002 year model, I have no way to determine "what changed".
but, for windows?
I can't believe they would change anything.
I guess I need to buy some of the earlier year model Electrical manuals, I bought a genuine Ford paper manual, and that is a forget it item.
no way to search, it is a super PITA to try and use, and the print is too small.
so, I only get the Digital versions now.
with the PDF, I use the Control-F key and type in Window and get a list of all pages referencing Windows ...
Then I click on each item and look at the schematic to see if it has the Information needed.
that way, I can make a Screenshot of each page, as needed, save it to the laptop.
then open the Image and blow it up as big as I want to look at individual details.
that is how I made those screenshots for you, I looked them up, one page at a time, and made them just for you...
Still struggling diagnosing this window problem with my 2000 Ford Excursion. Just wondering if anyone has Power Window electrical schematic diagrams like John provided for a 2000 Ford Excursion (which I believe is different from the 2002). If you do, can you post it here or let me know where to find it please?
at least I used to, I tried 4 times to get it to accept the "not a robot" picture clicking thing....
you must use a web browser that allows adverts to be shown, and all of mine have adBlockers on them.... plus I am using Linux exclusively, which seems to foul up the works, when the websites try to impregnate my PC with vermins.
John, I was able to get in. Displays the owners manual nicely, but still looking for that wiring diagram. I'll keep looking for it on that website. Thank u sir!
