Glad you're getting it sorted out.
You can use 5/32" inner diameter rubber hose or silicone hose (that's made specifically for vacuum line replacement), to replace the vacuum lines.
If your vacuum line sticker is still there, follow that.
Solenoids like the EVR (EGR control solenoid) get manifold vacuum to their bottom nipple, then the component being controlled gets it vacuum from the top nipple.
You need to test your vacuum reservoir for leaks.
Ok so I sorted out grounding issues and found a leak in the vac system that was throwing the egr code. I’m hoping the vss code was from the bad ground. I blew on the line running to the egr and heard hissing on the other side of the intake. First tube I grabbed came apart. Temporarily fixed it till I can run new vac lines with an electrical connector. It worked and is not leaking. At least not enough to throw a code. It’s hillbilly as hell but 80 miles and no cel.
thank you kindly for the suggestions, I also sanded down the new fenders where they painted over where the grounds connect.
That's a good idea on that temporary vacuum line repair. Never saw that one before.
Yeah, grounds are just as important as the hot side of an electrical circuit. I would recommend coating your ground connections in dielectric grease, now that they're clean.
Thanks! I work on a fishing boat and have learned to fix things with whatever we have because no service truck can make it out there. Thanks for letting me know what size lines. My inner hood was painted but I took pictures of the diagrams for the vacuum lines beforehand and I’m gonna have a sticker made that I can put back there.
