Drive Shaft length.

I am needing the measurements on a drive shaft for a 1990 f150 Single cab short bed 2 wheel drive. Ive done a 5 speed swap (E4OD to M5OD). The output shaft on the trans is 28 spline. I can’t seem to find any info on the web for dimensions. I also can’t find a yoke to fit so I can have the drive shaft length-end. Any help is much appreciated. Any links to slip yokes or drive shafts would be sweet! Thanks!

What engine is in truck, it matters, cause, they are different lengths, from factory you had 2 choices 4.9L I6, or 5.0L v8 only 2 engines, with 5 speed, in a F150.

Look up Tom Woods or Denny’s driveshafts.

You would know better than anyone on the internet how long the driveshaft needs to be. Get under there with a measuring tape. Go to one of these websites

Put what information they need in the order form for a driveshaft.

that’s the problem. I can’t get an accurate measurement. The E4OD drive shaft is bigger than the M5OD drive shaft. I can’t seem to mock it up and get a measurement. I was hoping someone on here could measure theirs

You have not looked on those websites that were mentioned. Use this
or this one

or this one

You do not use the old driveshaft to measure for a new one.

Simply go to the junkyard and get a yoke for your 5 speed trans
Install the yoke in your trans and measure for shaft length
Last one I had built, the driveline shop just had me measure from the output shaft to the rear end yoke
Note
Thank God 9 inch Ford rear ends had 2 pinion lengths
That's why you use a yoke and measure center to center to the U joint caps
