front drive shaft

I have a 1998 f-150 4x4 super cab. The splines are gone on my front drive shaft causing alot on vibration when in four wheel drive. I was wondering if the drive shaft from a 1995 f-150 would fit my truck.I know that the ends are different,but if the u-joints are the same size I could use my own ends.

Why wouldn't you just get the correct shaft? Sounds like a lot of work otherwise.

found out that the pre 1997 shaft won't fit.too long.the reason i wanted to use this shaft was that i could get one for $80.00 compared to almost $400.00 for a 1998 one.MONEY TALKS.

400 sounds a bit high. I would try other options too.
