My question is this, Reese has a unit (R13522 $112.70) that mounts behind the original two hooks, allowing receiver hitch for the front.
Two problems is you lose the OEM Fog Lights, not a big deal for me, but you block off a rather large area the takes in air. This supply is for the radiator and cooling unit for power steering. Now it is not the main supply but every bit counts. Have any of you out there used this unit and have discovered any issues with over heating. On the other hand, for that matter any other problems with the unit period.
I have not found any other brand on the market for a front mounted receiver, if anyone knows of one please send info.
I have one and tow a 30 footer with no increase in temps. I have pillars gauges so I can keep a good eye on it. Air still makes up there just a bit redirected thats all.
A buddy of mine installed on on his F350 SuperDuty. He also had to reposition the front license plate ... and that may not be an issue if you live in a state without front plates.
Yes you can install it yourself. Mine is a hidden hitch. I got of the internet for 99 bucks and free shipping. Hardest part of the install is removing and re-installing the bumper. It is light but akward sized, becareful and not scratch the front fenders like i did. Be safe and tape the front of the fenders up with masking tape to prevent scratches. Any other questions feel free to post or e-mail me.
