Recently replaced Ignition control module, could that have failed?
Code 14.
(Sings 'The Old Truck Blues')
Code 14 comes from the pickup inside the distributor. Could be the pickup, could be a connection or wire to the pickup. You can buy a pickup and replace it, but you have to take the distributor apart. You could buy a replacement distirbutor, buy I WOULD NOT buy a rebuilt distributor from the parts stores. They are usually remans from cardone and I have had lots of trouble with those. If you could find a NEW distributor, that would be best, but I do not know if they make such a thing to fit your engine. 2nd best would be to repair your distributor.
I think only some of the mustang engines had the bronze gear.
There appeared to be a choice between steel and cast.
For the record, NAPA had a 20% SPOOKY online discount for a new distributor, so I went for the in stock part. It popped right in, and I nailed the placement, timing was right on.
THANKS again for everything you do in this forum, MUCH appreciated!!!
