Hello Everyone. Im new around here and just want to say thanks in advance for any help. I just picked up a 2003 F350 6.0 a couple days ago and second drive the check engine light came up. I scanned it "P1320 Ignition Control (IC) Module 4X Reference Circuit Intermittent No Pulse". Thats all it said and I'm not sure where to start. I had probably only put 15 miles, total, on it when the light came on.
I have been driving a 1999 F350 7.3 company truck everday for almost three years now over 20K a year. I love the truck, has had no problems so I wanted to go with another Ford Diesel. I love Fords and plan on being a longtime member around here.
Any idea's??? Any thing I should check??? The ford dealer by my house was no help. I asked the service guys about the P1320 Ignition Control (IC) Module 4X Reference Circuit Intermittent No Pulse code and the guy said he would have to start charging to answer any questions.
You see the reason "we" didn't answer yet is, that the 6.0 doesn't have ignition. I tried to do a little research with the code, and on gas vehicles it is related to ignition coil, or misfire problem, but no results for diesel...
Don't know what to say, I would clear the code, drive it and see if it comes back.

I sure can't find anything on it. Seems like a "trash" code to me, since the only Ford reference I can find on it is for the distributor. Maybe we can keep it up at the top for awhile and someone that knows will see it.
Edit:
Shoot - that is the second time today I didn't type fast enough.
Hey, thanks for looking. I searched for at least a couple hours and have found nothing. I'm going to clear the code and see what happens. I'll get back to you guys later with the results.
That website pretty much explaines everything you need to know.
The CKP and CMP are pretty much bulletproof on the 6.0 engines, but like this, there are some cases when it's proofed otherwise.
If I'm you, I wouldn't hesitate to replace it, the CKP is a really important sensor for the 6.0.

Hey, I'm back with it fixed a month later. The EGR was bad. The truck runs 100% better. I brought it to my buddy that just bought some $9000 scanner for his shop and bad EGR came up. I thought the truck ran fine before just with a check engine light on but it runs much better now. Smoother than my 7.3.
