Last week I replaced the front worn out shocks with Bilstein 4600. I am looking online to find the correct rear 4600 and seem to be finding multiple answers. Does anyone know what the part number is? One that I found on another forum said 24-185455. I was trying to source through Rock Auto and did not see that one there.
If your 2WD rear end is 1” to 2” higher than stock, you can use the 4x4 shocks because the mounts are the same on both types of Exs. Front mounts are different.
Thanks for this, what is the Bilstein # for the fronts, not sure what mine has but they are terribly stiff, guessing they are the Fab-tech ones that the po put on with the lift...
2000 5.4 2wd - are the fronts on lifted 2wd same as 4wd?
The ones that were on it were stamped Ford Motorcraft, so original at 168k
i just swapped my originals out this year ~105K miles. Couldn't believe how easy they were to compress. Almost no resistance..all 4 of them. The new one's (KYB's) had A Lot more compression. Really has helped out the ride though.
