So my truck underwent a weightless operation over the weekend and included in that was the removal of the throttle valve. As it turns out the PTO harness is linked to the throttle valve wiring and that harness is used for my BD Diesel high idle kit. The high idle obviously no longer works so my question for those of you smarter than me is whether there is a way I can trick the system into thinking the truck still has the throttle valve. Alternatively, would the traditional method of the high idle mod using a diode still work instead of the variable idle kit I currently use?
Plug the throttle valve back in and leave it hanging in the engine compartment.
When I first read this I thought well, that would be the obvious solution, but if I hang that big hunk back in there, it will look like crap and will just be in the way.
So I removed the black plastic part where the connector attaches and it contains the circuit board and wires, sealed the now open side so now I have a much smaller part that I can zip tie to the underside of the cold air charge pipe. Plug in the connector again and all works as intended! Thanks!
Also, some before and after weight loss pics because everyone likes pics!
