Fuel Tank
Tank looks the same on the inside. Nasty thing.
Now I'm thinking of what should I use as an insulation between frame/straps and the tank. Looks like this may work, but maybe somebody has a better idea?

I changed the rear tank for a 38 gallon Spectra F26E probably 5 years ago or more.
There was no rust any where inside the tank, and this is on my 86 F-250.
The top of the old sender was rusty though.
Put new senders in both tanks as well as Shower heads.
Also replaced the Fuel selector valve (FSV). Later it pulled from the rear and returned to the front
tank which over flowed.
Finally gave the FSV the deep 6, and now pull fuel from and return to the rear tank.
I fuel up around every 500 miles.
Front Tank will be my transfer tank to the rear tank. I did install a small transfer pump to the rear
tank and dump into the fill Tube. Just haven`t finished with wiring yet.
We just came home from a trip from Carson City, Nv. to Colorado Springs, Co. doe a ships reunion,
(Navy)
Across Nv, Ut, through Wyo to Cheyenne, then south on 25 to Colorado Springs, 1300miles.
Coming back decided to continue on 25 south to Hwy 40 west through Albuquerque, Nm.
We fueled up in Willams, Az. first town past Flagstaff, then through Las Vegas and north on 95 through
Nevada. Old 2 lane State Hwy that goes through every wide spot with a Cop hiding behind every Sage
Bush...LOL
Get home, next day headed to town and decided I better fill this things up. Went 690 miles, and added
38.045 gallons, and 18.14 MPG. I always fill to the top of the fill tube, so maybe gives me another Gallon?
Lets just say I ain`t cutting it that close again.
I do recommend to swap in a 38 gallon tank as long as you have it all tore apart.
