Happy Sunday all! Some of the black plastic trim pieces are starting to fade a little on my 2017 F-350. What product do you guys recommend for renewing/restoring the plastic trim?
ECH2O mixed with Reload seems to restore faded black plastics. Sometimes a good scrubbing with a stiff plastic brush when spraying it on helps get the oxidation off too. In fact just came downstairs to mix up a fresh batch after taking a break.
I 2nd chemical guys VRP. I think some chem guys stuff is inferior to the competition but I've had great luck with this on a couple vehicles and my dirt bike even. I dont have much to compare to other than my detailer buddy uses it and loves it.
Good timing - on Sunday I spent an hour detailing all the rubber/plastic trim on my F350. I used Adams VRT (Vinyl Rubber Tire) product. They also have a VRT Graphene which I haven't yet used.
The product is really easy to apply as it isn't watery - it's like hand lotion consistency - and the results were far better than I expected. After 3 years of occasionally treating the rubber/plastic with other products, Adams VRT brought the trim back to life and it looks today as good as when I applied it. The parts in the worst condition were the large plastic panel below the front windshield, the "gutter trim pieces" on both sides of the roof, the 2 "pods" on the roof, and the bedside caps. Now they look brand new! I highly recommend Adams VRT (I like their other car care products too).
I used Solution Finish as a protectant on my new F250 and I’m this stuff works really well. After several months in 90 plus degrees heat and multiple car wash passes it’s still there and shiny.
