There are YouTube video's about getting into the dash and how to pop it all apart. Not much to it. So if the replacement part could be obtained it could be replaced in about an hour. I have had my dash tray out to install a ham radio. I didn't need to remove the screen surround but I got into it enough to realize there's not that much to it.
Depending on how badly the plastic is scratched, do you think you could buff it out with buffing compound? You could try. If it doesn't work you're not out anything.

just like buffing out the b pillars, yeah you probably could. You’d have to remove it first though. I guess I could try that
And then dust with Swiffer dusters, they're soft and fluffy enough not to scratch.
In full disclosure I have the 8" XLT center stack, but it's really the same sort of snap together/pull apart thing. Not that much different.
I didn't know they are using piano black trim with the 12" screen. The 8" screen surround is not that shiny piano black plastic. If the trim around the 12" screen is like the B pillars it's almost impossible not to scratch it. I've seen some post that PPF on the B pillars works, maybe it can be used on that trim too. My guess would be no. Maybe some type of interior ceramic coating might help.
