I bought a block back in 2019 on fordbarn. Guy said it was a good block and it looked ok, but it sat in my basement for a while. I finally took it to the machine shop about a year ago and it’s been in line for a build. It went through cleaning and inspection today and had no cracks other than the typical head bolt deck cracks.
I have everything except pistons and rings and will be taking all the parts down next week to get this project started!!! Can’t decide between a 1CM merc cam or an EAB ford cam (I have both).
Did you buy a bare block or a short block? If you need internals, I have plenty including cranks. I'd like to see them gone.
I don't think there's a lot of seat-of-the-pants difference between the EAB and Merc cams. What intake/carb setup will you use?
It’s a stock build Ross with a 4” crank. I think I have everything for it, I just need to double check tomorrow. I think I might need a pickup oil tube, pickup tube bolts, oil pump bolts, and oil pump idler gear cover bolts.
