Having FordPass is giving Ford permission to follow all of your financial transactions, listen to ever utterance that happens in the cab and read all of your emails and text messages. They can also sell your driving data to insurance companies which will never result in cheaper rates even if it's perfect but in some states they will raise your rates if it is not perfect. You're better off without it because you are trading your privacy from Ford for the ability to remote start/lock/unlock your truck over a longer distance. Ford will not help you locate your truck if it is stolen even with GPS/location data so there is zero benefit there.

If you are ok with all of that stuff then go ahead and agree to the terms and keep using it.

Someone hasn't read the terms of service.

I control what apps have access to through app permissions. Even if the terms of service say they collect it, if they don't have access, they cannot get it. I might know a little bit about how this works as I am a software developer.

Now I can’t get the app to work and the online service history is down. Must be Russian collusion… This is how it begins! All kidding aside, what good is a service history tracking feature if it doesn’t work correctly? And naturally, the Ford chat service was no help.

I may just have to break out the old spiral notebook!

How does FordPass know where your truck is if you aren't allowing it to track location data and telemetrics?

I'm assuming you have not read the terms and conditions of the app? One permission you agree to is Ford recording all utterances made inside the vehicle. Changing app permissions is not going to stop that.

I know it's a PITA, but you can log into ford.com with your same password as Ford pass and enter your maintenance entry there. I've been doing that since they removed it from the Ford pass app.

yeah, that's what I'm trying to do. Logging in online and going to the vehicle dashboard. When I select +new record, I populate everything and get the "save" option. When I click save, I get this error message: Oops! Something went wrong adding your entry. Please refresh and try again later.

Just tried it again. Not working. I've cleared the cache & history, etc. Still not working.

Strange, I was on there about a week ago to enter an oil change and no trouble at all.

I had a similar issue with Chrome after just logging into the FordPass site. Would work fine with Firefox. I had to delete my browser's cache to get it working.

So I talked to Courtney, FordPass customer service, a nice lady from Texas, a miracle in and of itself. She said they just processed a few patches & batch updates for the app. Now they were working on some website functionality.
She advised to give it a week and try again, that they should be completed by Friday EOD this week. I'll just save my records/info until then.
