Hey all! I just picked up a 2003 Ex with the 7.3l, 275k miles. I need to replace the injector cups and will be putting in the stainless steel ones. My questions are:
1. Is there anything else I should replace while I have the valve covers off?
2. Are there any parts that I should replace for better reliability, performance, mileage while I'm working on it anyway?
3. Is there anything I should pay attention to with these beasts?
You really want to go there?
The sky is the limit, but with the valve covers off, injectors out, feel free to replace: Glow Plugs (OE) only, under valve cover harness, possible lifter springs, and shims, valve seals. I recently did that and more.
