ive been trying to keep on a budget for my build up ive got my motor all paid and it took up most of my money but to make this worth it i want to be albe to drive it before christmas actually i need it now. all i have left is to put the motor in the truck and hook it all up. but i still need to get headers i would like to have a set of L&Ls fenderwell exits so its easier to put exhaust on with out too much bending but at $375 i would like to shop around and a article somewhere on this site said hooker made some for my application for a more reasonable price of $120 however i jus came from the Hooker header website and did not see them didnt that company sell most of the headers to monster truckers when they used these 70s Pickups for that, can any of u guys help me out and tell me where i can find them?
yea a good speed shop will sell Hooker headers, they are not cheap either. one thing about L+L headers is they are lifetime warranty. mine fit like a glove, they also have very thick flanges for mounting, very nice header from L+L
The hookers fit, but I the flanges aren't that thick. Mine have been on and off a couple of times and now it takes a couple of gaskets on some of the ports to seal them up. Also the hit the front crossmember right under the tranny.
okay if the hookers headers arnet that cheap and as bad as classic79 says they r then ill get the L&L does any body have the fenderwell exits how do they fit are there any problems to get them in there?
yep, look at my gallery i have the fenderwell headers. mine is a 250 tho so it will be a little different than a 150. as far as getting them in you will have to move your brake lines around.
i had to remove the front sway bar as they were just touching on the mount bolt of the sway bar link.

Check out my gallery. I have both pass. and driver side views of the headers where they come out the inner fenders.
With fenderwells, you have to trim some of the inner fenders out. My pics show where to trim fairly well. As mentioned before, you'll need to bend your brake lines out of the way. No biggie. I also re-routed my wiring harness a little bit although in retrospect this probably isn't needed.
Other than a little trimming, they fit like a glove. These are the nicest set of headers I've had the pleasure of owning (and I've owned many). The gaskets that come with the headers are very nice too. I did the initial torque when I installed the headers and not a single bolt has loosened up in over 10K miles.
I have a 77 f150 4x4 with a 460 and i have also been looking for headers. the L&L's are the only ones i have found that are made for that truck. i would like to find some that are under $250, just plain black ones. The L&L's say that you will gain 40 hp at the rear wheels though, and i like that idea.
