Need Help Removing Starter

I have a 73' Ford F100 and the starter is giving me a hard time. As of this moment I am trying to replace the bad starter with a brand new one. However, I have come into a problem. One of the exhaust pipes are in the way of the bolt and the nut that is attached to said bolt. This bolt is also being bent out of shape making it hard to take off. If anyone knows how to remove an exhaust pipe or knows any tips that could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

It's a 360 engine and V8. 2 wheel drive and 3 speed automatic. It is a Ranger Custom if you need that too. Let me know what else you need and I will provide it.

I've used a very long extension and went at starter bolts from in front of the engine mount before. Rather than open up exhaust.

Long extension, and maybe a bit of tape in a socket to hold the bolt in it firmly at "put back together" time. If using any flex sockets, wrap a round of tape around the joint too.
