old starter in the 77 has been a piece for as long as its been in the family finaly got to point were i had to replace ofcourse now ic why th old cowbo who had before hadint done anything about it along time ago top bolt that holds it to the motor is broken can barley fit a wrench let alone a drill and extractor any got any idea how to get this starter off now?
Is the problem just that the bolt head is snapped off? If that's the case, I'd try and remove the other bolt, and see if there is enough room to slide the starter away from the bellhousing, and then take it down. That should expose the shaft of the bolt so that you can get vice grips or a pipe wrench around it. I may not be totally understanding the problem though.
no u got the jist of it i can wiggle the starter around but not enough to see any thing havent realy tried to force its if i can just hulk it off will i get away with just retaping the threads or will i cause further damage?
