When disassembling the horn button in preparation for taking the steering wheel off before we put the new steering box on, I put the horn button and parts in the glove box. Last night when putting the horn parts back together I found this spring in the glove box. At first I thought it goes over the steering column and under the horn button. My buddy Bill thought it too. But after thinking about it I knew it didn't go with the horn button stuff.
I must have put it in the glove box quite some time ago for safe keeping and now I don't remember what it is for.
Any ideas?
Tonight I double checked the shop manual and for sure it doesn't go with the horn. Or does it go under the steering wheel?
3524 is the steering shaft and worm assembly. 3517 and 3518 is the bearing and sleeve, 3520 is the spring under the steering wheel that keep preload on the bearing and the steering shaft stable.
