About 4 months ago someone stoled my stereo from my truck, since then my truck will start up perfectly but once it gets warm its like the battery is dead until it sits for about 30m.
I repaired the damage from the stolen radio and capped all the cut wires. I have changed the starter, relay, battery, all battery cables including the the starter, someone suggested a heat shield for the starter, which I installed. I changed the key switch also, the only thing left is the ignition switch and module which is costly.
Anyone have any ideas or have a similar problem in the past money is getting tight with Christmas around the corner. I cannot afford to make many mistakes regarding parts that won't fix the problem.
I had similar problems with a 79 bronco, and a ford 8n tractor. It can be a few thing, starter getting hot and the appendix is not comin out , or it is getting bound up. try getting between engine block and starter and pry ( trying to move the starter slightly), or try tapping it with a hammer. first make sure you are getting enough juice to the starter w a volt meter. You might also try relocating your ground cable, I have had to do that before, give that a shot , sounds crazy but it worked for me before. one other thing i have had to do befor is manually turn the engine by laying on your back and grabbing the belts and turning, if starter is hung this will releas it. try all of these i have had the same problem
