dash bulb test
when you put the key in the bulb test position (ie: between the ON position and START position)?
trying to determine if I have all of the ones on my 87 f150 working...
thx
looks like the only 2 that I'm not 100% sure whether they work are the CHECK ENGINE and Emiss lights. The Engine light
comes on when key is between ON and START position...so that's good.
Found an old thread where subford went thru the process of resetting the EMISS light should it come on. looks to be a
light to instruct you to do emissions maintenance on the truck. the reset procedure will just turn that light off. I'll bet it's
been done on my rig in the past as I have 122K miles on the clock. so I'll likely never see it again. for those interested,
here is the link for the thread on it:

is there a way I can trigger either of these lights (ie: manually create a condition that should illuminate them) to test that
the bulbs are good?
thx.
I am not an electrical expert, but sometimes I hear of tests where you may need to puncture through the wire with an electrical test lead or something similar, to perform an electrical test of a certain circuit. Some other methods may entail using a jumper cable/wire. I wonder if maybe in your particular circuit there may be a fuse that needs to be tested, it's rated for a certain voltage but it may not be carrying that number of a voltage to help make the circuit and other components work.
