My F350 non-Tremor May 6 build came with the dummy hub. It didn't give me any trouble, but I just hated it. So, I ordered the locking hub and both sections of hose from Ford. The hoses are back ordered, but I have installed the locking hub on the passenger side. Both front axles are now unlocked; I'll install the hoses when they arrive. I feel better now.
I just replaced my hub on my 24 350 as well. Where are you guys ordering from? I ordered from Levittstown Ford a week from last Friday and they said they didn't have the parts but ordered and had everything in (hub and 2 hoses) by Wednesday, I had them by Friday. Took about an hour to install. I used blue loctite and torque the 27mm torx screws to 53 in lbs. Per online instruction. Anyone confirm those numbers are correct?
Ford is replacing the hub and installing the required vacuum line at no cost to me. I still want the system to work in auto or manual.

same here. I work plenty hard so I wanna make sure I ward off the “not a real man, must be too lazy” BS comments
but I dont always want to get out to lock my hubs every single time I want to go into 4 wheel drive. Pain in the *** in some scenarios which is why I don’t like the Warn hubs
i always have tools with me for the most part so if mine are mildly stuck I’ll use something to get leverage.
I don't consider this an indictment of laziness or anything else. 🤔 I prefer manual locking hubs and manual transmissions. And no driver aids other than backup cams. It is good to have choices.
first tried reaching out to brandon4 in that thread but his mailbox is full, undeliverable. emailed dealer with issue and will f/u after this long labor day weekend and post updates. all input appreciated.
Sorry about the mail box. It's not full but it doesn't work.
I put the dummy hub on a used Tremor at the dealer, and it was quiet. Terribly noisy on my truck. By coincidence I have had that used Tremor as a loaner for two months and it works fine.

i was never great at math but if the dummy hub was just to save a buck , putting the vacuum hub in for free theyve wasted that dollar savings . briiliant strategy

Welcome to Jim Farley's Ford Motor Company. Where we do everything half assed so we have to do it twice. The longer your vehicle sits in our service departments the less problems you can uncover.
I'm just happy they got the parts relatively soon. My last truck was a 2015 Ram 2500 6.4L Hemi. It had the lifetime powertrain warranty. It needed both exhaust manifolds replaced/repaired. They were covered under the warranty. After winter I started trying to get them fixed. I had to trade it in in Aug. without them being fixed because they were on back order the whole time. I lost $2,000 on my trade in because of it.

water under the bridge now but if you just got your existing manifilds resurfaced and put in new studs your good to go for a long time.

I bought the lifetime powertrain warranty so I wouldn't have to do any of that. I spent enough money in electrical repairs, I wasn't spending any more on that truck.

1,000% this, and whoo boy, did ya strike a nerve here! It's unfortunately becoming "the way" of society, from automotive to RVs, home construction, 2A and beyond. A "warranty" used to keep honest work honest. That was when a reputation led to a handshake on a deal where BOTH parties prospered. That was the old society, focused, big picture, long view, community.
Now, it's confrontational, "us" vs. "them", win / lose. "They" have corrupted warranties into a backdoor way for only "them" to gain, at the expense of "us". Can't pull out of your driveway without thinking, if something happens, how's my lawyer's story going to stack up against theirs?" Guilty until proven innocent thinking. That's today's society of distracted, disjointed, instant gratification, individual.
Morbid perspective, but those who adapt survive. You have to document everything today. Nonetheless, if you had 2 lawyers, 4 paralegals, 8 secretaries and 16 investigators guiding you 24/7, you're still gonna get blindsided. Stay sharp, but LIVE YOUR LIFE.
