I ordered a new tone ring. My buddy thinks that the ring is bent due to it walking off the carrier. So I will replace it and tack weld the new one in so it can’t walk off.

what a waste of time and 85 bucks in fluid.

Is your RABS computer still connected? If it is, try disconnecting it and taking it for a spin to see if the speedo issue fixes itself.

Disconnected the RABS module and no change.

Do you think maybe the tack welds are throwing the sensor off?

I am going to pull it tonight and replace the ring.

Well he was right. The ring was the cause again.

i replaced the ring and tack welded it in. There is some ever so slight flicker around 55 but other than that it seems good to go.

hopefully this is the last of this.

When I disconnect my rabs computer behind the glovebox the speedometer drops out entirely. Is this what you saw also?

For my situation, no. The module didn’t effect my issues at all.

Is there a reason why you unplugged yours?

I unplugged mine for the same general reason. Speedo was erratic intermittently. With it plugged in my truck shifts and runs fine, just the speedo bounces everywhere. With it unplugged, the speedo was dead and it shifted really poorly.
