Having said that, short bed trucks outnumber long bed trucks by a large margin....
Our F250 SCLB is even more of a unicorn! I can't understand why there's so many CCs.
~80% of the time our truck will only have the driver with no passengers. Maybe the other additional ~15% there will be one passenger. For all the other times (~5%) when we absolutely need more room for additional pax, we have the ability for three more, although admittedly pretty cramped. And with SC there's at least always still enough room for dog[s] and gear.
I just got my first long bed truck 2 weeks ago. Up until now I have had various short bed half and 3/4 tons. This time I went 450, and I already no longer notice the added length or width from my previous RAM 2500.
I was coming from a 5.5' bed in my F150 so having the "short" bed seems more than enough for my needs. I would have liked the long bed but I wouldn't be able to fit it many places I go.
I too came from a F150 5.5" bed, however the number one thing I hear on these forums and elsewhere is about the benefits of the short bed vs long bed when it comes to size and also turning radius. While the extra 18" may be a deal breaker for garages.... that's about it, from my perspective.
I'm now in a CCLB and while everything everyone above has stated is true (better ride, bigger tank, more space, easier towing, etc...) I was blown away at the turn radius. While I know everyone knocks the long bed for it's size/turn radius, it's been a total non-issue for me. It's easy to turn and the occasional three -point turn is easy to maneuver. I fully understand that if the 18" is the difference between garaging it or not, then go shorter... But if that's not in the cards, all the other pro's of the long bed are awesome!

That tight turning front end is awesome. It's quite a bit easier to get our '17 F450 around in tight spots than my '96 F350. Both are CCLB so they're long and the 350 has a utility bed instead of hips but you gotta plan your route way more with the old girl. I'm in construction so the long bed is always preferred.
The very first truck I ever ordered was a 1997 F150 extended cab short bed. I thought it was great. That is until I bought a new riding lawn mower at Lowe's and couldn't fit it in the bed without leaving the tailgate down. I had a crossover tool box so the mower wouldn't fit. I hated how little cargo room there really was left. In 2000 I ordered an F250 SC long bed. Even with the crossover tool box I still had plenty of cargo room to utilize. In 2003 I ordered an F250 CC long bed and my newest ordered truck is being built next week. It is another F250 CC long bed. I will not ever have another short bed truck. Like someone said in an earlier post, you get used to being able to park it and the long wheel base becomes a non-issue. The newer long wheel base trucks have such a tighter turning radius now that it is even less of an issue to park them. This is just my opinion of course.
Whatever bed you get the rest of the trucks are identical in dimensions. Only thing that is different is wheel base and length of the truck. Unless you’re trying to park in a short garage or various other reasons to get a short bed the difference in parking isn’t really that bad. I have had all long bed trucks except for one. It was a pain in the butt. I can go and park just about anywhere in my 17 Super cab Long Bed. The attachment below are 2017 to 2019 numbers. 2020 plus I would imagine are the same or pretty darn close.
Ordered my 2016 CCSB as a short bed because of perceived parking concerns. Went to order a truck last year and my dealer just got one in the was supposedly ordered by accident, 95% of what I wanted but a long bed. Ended up buying it as no wait and not marked up. I actually prefer long beds. No worse parking and the best riding Superduty of the 3 I’ve owned. Go long bed and don’t look back
Looking to upgrade to a PSD and have found a truck I really like. Only reservation is the Long Bed. I'd like to hear from owners on the plus side of owning one. I know parking is an issue but I could use the exercise parking at the back of lots
Do they tow and ride better?
I would take advantage of the extra space to put in a tool box with a transfer flow fual tank for extra distance. I currently tow a bumper pull trailer and a boat.

Any serious cons to owning one? Would you buy a long bed again?
I tow 3 different heavy duty tongue tow trailers and also a 5th wheel. I would not have anything but a long bed for towing. They ride better and are much better for hauling anything. I love the 48 gallon tank on my 22. I find that backing in to parking spaces works better for me.I have had 1 short box and the last 5 pickups have been long boxes.
My 24 is a CCSB. Made a huge mistake buying it. Hate the mileage range, choppy ride, and lack of space in the bed. I ordered a long bed a month ago.
Never again.
I love a long bed and won't have it any other way. I use the bed for truck stuff, and a bigger bed means I can do more with it.
Also, JMHO, but the huge cabs and small beds just look silly on these large trucks. A Maverick or Ranger? Sure. But a F150 and up, and they just look very disproportional.
