Hi there! So, my fancy F350 Platinum's projector headlights are pretty nice. Except for the weird criss-cross pattern the high beams put out (I've seen a couple of threads about that here). Not the end of the world but it is a little distracting and I really wish it could just be a clean beam.
That being said, it seems every aftermarket replacement LED bulb in existence is only meant to replace OEM halogen bulbs. Isn't there any aftermarket bulbs out there that I could swap into my projector housings to get a different pattern for the high beams? Who does that seem so rare?
There must be a part number for the bulb Ford uses, so you'd think there'd be similar aftermarket bulbs available that would work...
In the past the OEM LED headlights were non serviceable. There were no replaceable bulbs in them. Any light burnt out would require the entire new assembly. I haven't looked at the new projector headlights but I wouldn't be surprised if the same is true for them.

Ah, it's a fully enclosed, self-contained housing then. I guess that makes sense since assuming there was no defect, the bulbs would outlast most of the rest of the vehicle.
Lots of aftermarket housings for the 2020-2022s, but as far as I can tell there's nothing for the 2023-2025s yet. Which means if there isn't by now there probably never will be 🫤
I wonder if I could replace my projector housings with reflector housings. Would lose the auto leveling and wheel-following in exchange for cleaner light. Probably not worth it.
I would guess there would be several people who would jump at the chance to swap with you. If you’re really adventurous, technically the housings can be opened using an oven. Look into headlight retrofit on google for instructions for headlight housings. Either way, you could then take a look at why the pattern is what it is. Maybe frost the lenses, which would probably smooth it out. It’s pretty risky though, just to fix the beam pattern.
I admit, the high beam pattern is disappointing, but the auto leveling and the light output makes up for it, for me.

Yeah I don't think I want to get into taking apart the housing if it's not really meant to come apart. Very expensive fix if things go wrong.
It's interesting because the pattern seems to make it so that close-up street signs actually produce less glare because the lights' "full power" is broken up into that pattern instead of being steady-on, but you still get pretty clean light downrange when it's not bouncing off anything close by. Still distracting when it is though.
That being said, is it accurate to say that I could pretty easily swap my projector housings for reflector ones, just plug and play, no fancy rewiring, and I lose the auto-leveling/turning but gain a cleaner beam?
