Is it possible to bleed the ABS module with AE, version 8.4.1?

Thanks in advance!

Piggybacking on what AKCooper9 said above... RigCity has some advice for you...

For the abs bleed I bought a wireless OBD connector downloaded forescanlite connected the unit selected the service option then ABS bleed. You should bleed the brakes run the abs bleed cycle then bleed the system again according to a screen shot of the FSM I saw. It bleeds the pump in under 20 seconds per run.

Thank you for the input. I was hoping one of these super tech guys with AE experience chiming in, or having a write-up on it. Hard to believe AE did not construct an avenue to complete the task in their software, but mine is 16 years old, and it does just about everything else.

Will vLinker MC+ work good with an IOS device running FORScan lite?

Thank you. I guess all the people from back then are all gone. I got my AE in 2006.

So we had soft brakes. Changed out everything except ABS module. We were thinking air in the ABS module may be the problem, but we were wrong. The module was bad. Replaced it, bled the lines, bled the module, then bled lines again (the RigCity procedure), and everything is back perfect.

Thank you to those who took the time to respond! vLinker does work well with ForeScan.

Was the ABS light on with the bad ABS module? Link to the RigCity procedure?

Negative on the ABS light. The ABS light is functioning properly. The RigCity procedure is a quote on the third response in this thread.

i saw that. When you say the RigCity procedure, it isn't the actual details of how to bleed the lines, but rather the order of operations and to do the ABS bleed with forescan? Just want to make sure I am not missing something - I thought it might be some better way to bleed the brakes.

Correct, order of operation for a complete brake system bleed. The FOREScan Lite ABS module bleed is definitely fast.

i believe my ae software is 7 or 8 years old now. it will activate the abs module as i have done it. i blew a brake line in the rear of the truck and lost all the brakes. apparently there was enough gunk built up that it floated into the abs and it was 70% left side as a result. called ford to order a new abs block as the module was good but ford discontinued them and i couldn't find anyone that rebuilds the mechanical block itself. anderson ford stated they were discontinued for 99 to '02 as i asked specifically but apperantly e99 is different then late 99, according to ford. i am referring to the mechanical block as the electronic module is diff for sure. i found a used one and hoped for the best, it worked but i'm sure it's on borrowed time. i kept the original in case i find someone that can rebuild it.
