So just redid my entire ac system and map sensor. Had to replace alternator and 1 battery would any of that cause a transmission issue. 1 battery is charging at 13.2 and other on at 12.9 to 13. Transmission temp stays normal but when putting the pedal on the floor to pass or to climb a hill the rpm jumps to 2500 and stays there with out building speed like it use to.i let off the gas pedal and it will shift back into the higher gear but when trying to down shift it dont do any thing ex ept raise the rpm. Checked fuses and none are blown. Transmission fluid is full and doesn't smell burnt. Didn't have any issues until the alternator took a crap on me. Are there any relays or sensors I need to check before I have to end up taking it to a shop. Thank you
You need to check the PCM for codes. Forscan is available free at www.forscan.org. Or you could pay an good independent shop or a Ford dealer to read them. Your local auto parts store CANNOT read these codes.
Your symptoms sound like an engine that isn't making the right power, not a transmission problem.
The difference between the battery voltages is meaningless and not related to your issue. If you clean the connections or fix whatever source of resistance is between the two batteries, you'll see the numbers converge. Or you could just leave it as-is because there is nothing wrong with it.
