Theres gonna be HUGE difference in exhaust system sound from my 2006 F150 5.4 with cats, possibly quad cats if i remember correctly and my new to me 76 BBF 360/390 FE catless exhaust.
Right now its got a stock quiet muffler thats worn out and already burbling.
I think the ;
Straight-Through Chamber Performance Race Muffler Resonator with Universal Stainless Steel for Cars, Trucks
that i got for $80 cdn on amazon is gonna be LOUDER than the 2006 5.4 with straightpipe
POSSibly OBNOXIOUSLY ticket getting loud, lol
i usually like my vehicles fairly loud and its the one thing i typically change on most vehicles.
i never did it to my 2015 camaro yet cuz it has aftermarket mufflers and resonators that are almost loud enough but also drone between 1700-2100 rpm. i would replace my rearend with a 3.73 from the 3.23 to get two brids stoned at once, that being faster acceleration and maybe driving out of the drone range rpm BUT ive yet to find one in western canada.
OTOH, i was just evicted from a previous condo for noise violations reported from a young couple with a newborn claiming i was noisy.
SO thats all i need is some SJW claiming my truck is TOO loud and get evicted again !
Im moving out end of the yr anyways so maybe i will wait awhile on this truck.
i was totally wrong, despite being see thru, this muffler is VERY TAME , rather like a streetable welded magnaflow. Very deep bass that really drones at idle in gear, not dure yet at highway speeds.
Probly sound even tamer inside once i get a tailpipe on it, since it just dumps under the cab right now.
Sounds way better than partially burned out stock muffler :-)
We have a very loud Camaro V-6 across the street and a seasonal Harley. They seem to work various odd night shifts. They live in a 12 plex. Very hard to ignore when you are trying to sleep. For some odd reason the sound echos across the street and bounces off my garage into our bedroom. I think the only thing my body hasn't lost is hearing. Used to love the sound of Walker blue lines, still do. Factory HP Ford mufflers from 60's up till now always sounded good. JMO
