It's about time I've been thinking about putting one on my passsenger door for a while. Just didn't want the hassle. Sounds easy.

Absoulutley could not be easier.... Do not let Ford charge you for installation, Turn key from OFF to RUN 8 times in 10 seconds, 8th time ending in RUN, all doors will lock and unlock to confirm programming status, within 20 seconds press any button on remote, then again as nec with other remotes, key to off, done.

It is that easy...

So basically this system is a stick on keypad that goes in the factory location on the door. It is programmed via the keyless entry on the vehicle. It requires a battery similar to the one in the key fob remote. Next and last question......can it be used on a 97 Expedition? Does anyone have a picture of the unit?

My sister-in-law has a 99 and the remotes are identical. I think it would work. This would be a cool upgrade!

Keyless Entry Keypad Troubleshooting

I just bought a keypad for my 2000 F-150.
Reading the threads, it sounds so simple...OFF to RUN 8 times.
I've tried this several times and it still does not cycle the locks.
What can I be doing wrong?
Any ideas?
Appreciate the help.
JT

Being new to the forum, I'm hoping someone can help. I'm in a similar situation as Sunshine_Ford. I have one installed on a used F250 I bought. I did learn something that may be helpful. When turning the key on and off 8 times you have to do it VERY fast. Like 8 times in 8 seconds fast this does cause the door locks to cycle. BUT, once I do that, I enter the code I want to use, turn key back to off and nothing. Does anyone have the actual instructions for the keyless entry they could scan and email to me? THanks in advance.
