Adding 2009 OEM Remote Start/Alarm

Looking to add remote start to our 2009 Escape V6 XLT SAP. Want to retain use of the door keypad, so an OEM system looks to be the best option.

According to Ford's accessory website, this is the system I need: Remote Start System - 200 Series With Keyless Entry & Alarm | The Official Site for Ford Accessories Part# 7L3Z-19G364-AA

Appears to be 2009 specific.

This one shows to be for 2010, 11, and 12. Remote Start System - 200 Series With Keyless Entry and Alarm | The Official Site for Ford Accessories

My concern is there is no mention of the door keypad, whether it will continue to work or not.

It also says "A Remote Start PATS Interface kit, sold separately, is required for most applications" but no link to that kit is included and I can't find it on their site any where. Also no mention as to how to tell if you'll need it or not.

I'd like to get the right kit and all necessary accessories the first time, before I start the install since I plan to do it myself and need to get the vehicle back up and running asap as it's my wife's daily driver.

Any input is appreciated.

The door key pad is separate from any remote start system. The key pad on the door is usually hard wired to the RKE module.

Here is the PATS module you need. Basically it pretends to be a key so you can remote start the vehicle.

Do you have the instructions to install the kit?

The vehicle wire colors can be found here...

kits on ebay for the remote start

I would contact someone like Levitown Ford or one of the Ford dealers on the eBay listing to make sure which remote start kit you need.

Levitown is showing the AL3Z-19G364-A.

i would use the VIN from her Escape to insure the right remote start kit.

Installation instructions are here for the 7l3z-19g364-aa

Programming the remote start after installation is here

Here is Ford's chart to show what systems for each vehicle. The second page on the right side for the 2009 Escape does not list the AL3Z-19G364-A as a part number to use.

Confusing but hope it helps

Thank you Larry. That helps a lot!

The Geiser Ford Seller ad states call with the last 8 of the VIN to verify it's the right part. Her's is - 9KB55466

I have't bought any parts yet, I wanted to make sure I knew what I was up against and getting the right stuff before I spent money anywhere.

I'd prefer plug and play OEM stuff over aftermarket if possible.

Her main concern - and a mandatory feature - is that the door keypad continue to disarm/unlock and lock/arm. Remote start from the door pad isn't necessary. She wants to be able to walk out to her car without keys and be able open it up and get something out if need be.

A couple car stereo and alarm shops have recommended some after market systems (that they sell and make money off of) but none of them were real confident about the door pad.

I think one was the Viper 5103 and the other was the Directed 5x10. The shop recommending the 5x10 seemed more confident it would work than the Viper shop.

I just want to get something that'll work, and work right.

Happy wife, happy life LOL!!
