Here is a good thread that talks about the Neutral Safety Switch and the reverse lights. It may be a matter of an adjustment on the Neutral Safety Switch.
I just glossed through this again, but didn’t see this tidbit of information. Is there anywhere that it is stated which exact automatic transmission was swapped in?
All the talk of the NSS is for the steering column, but a 78 or later, C6, and most C4’s from 73 and on, had the NSS attached to the side of the transmission where the shift shaft enters.
That would cover both back up lamp and neutral start.
Or maybe it’s not either of those transmissions, and something else entirely.
Sorry if it was mentioned and I just didn’t see it, but if somebody could reiterate, what the exact model automatic that was installed is, that would be great

I was able to get it resolved with that thread. Had to reverse the steps they had (auto to manual) since I’m going manual to auto. It’s all good now. Thanks all!
