Good morning and trying to figure out why one of the three shuttle buses has no reverse.
2001 E350 r4100. Have the pressure gauge hooked up and nothing in reverse. And very curious about wiring conditions at neutral switch
Nothing electrical can cause no reverse in a 4R100 transmission. The only way a 4R100 transmission won't have reverse is if something mechanical has failed inside the transmission.
I have heard of the feedbolts loosening and that causes a big pressure leak internal to the trans. It's longshot, but possible. Drop the pan and the main valve body to access these bolts.
I think it is more likely that you've had a clutch failure that is dumping all of the pressure in reverse.
@Mark Kovalsky , do modern transmissions have reverse wear failure from one moment to the next? I’m thinking of older transmissions that take longer and longer for reverse to engage as a sign the reverse clutch(?) is worn.
