Steering column knuckle?? Help!!

Steering column knuckle?? Help!!
Im going to try to describe this as best as I can cause I don’t have pictures.
I posted a thread the other day asking about the locking mechanism in my steering column and I’ve gotten my column out and taken apart. Found out it was the upper bigger bearing that was bad. After taking the steering column apart I had the bigger like back/lower half and the smaller front/upper half apart but that shaft that runs through both to connect your steering wheel to the knuckle under the dash is still in the smaller/upper part of the steering wheel. I need to know how to get that shaft out cause there’s ball bearings down in the column itself and I can’t get them out.

Here is what is stopping me because I have pictures of that. I took this before taking my column out. That black plastic piece has a snap ring and a spring behind it and i don’t know how to get that off and out of the way.
