I am trying to do an interior swap on my 2016 f250. I got a 2015 platinum interior and switched out the whole works and the air box. Currently my sync 2 radio isn’t working and will turn on and then claim is turning off to save battery when the truck is running and it has a new battery. Anyone know what I need to do to fix the radio as everything else works?
If I matters the platinum interior is out of a 2015 f350 6.7
The truck that I’m putting it into is a 2016 f250 6.2
Is there any fixing or do I need to revert the dash to original?
What all did you swap? Diesel and gas dash harnesses are different from what I’ve seen, did you put the cab harness in? Did the 15 have the Sony sound system? Heated/cooled seats?

The whole interior was switched out of the diesel
The gasser got the Sony system and the seats
does the dash harness need to be switched out for a gasser one?
I know the fuel pump control is different between them, gasser is controlled by the BCM and doesn’t have a fuel inertia switch, diesel is controlled by the pcm and has a fuel inertia switch, but if the truck is running then that shouldn’t be an issue.
Did you use the diesel cluster or keep the gas cluster? What trim level was your truck? XL, XLT….
In the higher trim level trucks the cluster had another CAN bus added (I-CAN) that runs the sync 2, Front control interface panel (FCIM), audio control module (ACM) and the Sony DSP amp. If that bus is missing then none of that will turn on, usually the FCIM will stay lit up and never go to sleep, radio won’t work and heater controls won’t respond.

We used the original cluster and it was a xlt
The truck is running and drivingwith everything in it but the screen and hvac doesn’t work

Your XLT cluster doesn’t have the I-CAN bus that you need, you will have to find a different cluster from a higher trim gasser for everything to work right.
On the higher trim level trucks that have sync 2 the cluster is used as a gateway module to the HS-CAN bus which talks to most of the modules in the truck, the BCM is also another gateway module between the HS-CAN bus and the MS-CAN bus allowing everything to talk to each other. Put the correct cluster in and everything will work correctly.

I can’t find a trim specific cluster it claims it works for all of them
Something has to be different with the clusters as from what I remember from the wiring diagrams, the lower trim level trucks don’t have I-CAN and if you put in a cluster that has I-CAN and it’s not connected to anything the cluster will reboot every 10s or so.
All I can think of is to look for a high trim level gas truck that has sync 2 and grab the cluster from that
