Angry Power brake Vacuum pump

Here I have a new problem.
After getting the truck running again, Fuel related issue, the power brake failed on my last Saturday. I drove it home with standing on the brake when needed. I have replace the Vacuum pump 3 time in the last 6-8 K miles. (yes, around 2K and they fail) I use Auto-zone, but like to get one made in US if possible with should last 10 years again. Any recommendation before I go to AZ again.

I'm sorry I can't help you but I can bet before too long we will all be running hydroboost.

I seem to recall reading that vacuum leaks can kill the pumps prematurely.

Some "light" reading. Ha ha ha.

Looks like a STANDARD failure on this Trucks. What is the advantage of the dual tensioner?

The single wheel tensioner can start to deflect causing belt issues.

white tubing near the hinge on passenger side rots out and allows in extra air/moisture/oil which kills the carbon vanes

You could add a super duty electronic vacuum pump, you will also need a vacuum canister from a super duty. I wouldn't know how to wire it to shut of a certain vacuum pressure though.

Or a brake vacuum pump, diaphragm or vane type with built-in vacuum switch, from Summit.
Leeds, CVR, Summit brands are listed here:.
https://www.summitracing.com/search?...0vacuum%20pump

Then do the oem vacuum pump delete/dual idler mod.

May do the smaller vacuum pump for accessories later when I have the money. Already have the hydroboost going on.

I read that it does not have enough volume for stop and go traffic, the SD used it only for HVAC controls

X2 on looking for vacuum leaks. You could be pulling debris and moisture into the system which is causing the failures.

I forgot SD's have no vacuum brake booster, so this might not work on our old trucks
