Hello, looking to move up to a 2024 F250 with a Diesel option - Or is the 7.3 a better option? . I'm Assuming they all come with the 10 speed (loved it in my 150 eco boost).
Any items to look out for in that year Drive Trane or Otherwise?? Must have options etc.... I want to make this a long term truck instead of my typical 4 year upgrades I've been doing.
Currently towing a bumper pull RV at about 8K max (if I can keep check on the pack rat wife )...
Is Max Tow package even a thing on an f250 or is it all pretty much standard.
I'll be trading up via y stealership so the warranties will be in tack.....

All Lariat and up trims come with the >10k GVWR pkg. In addition to that, the diesel 250 is available with what they call the high capacity axle upgrade pkg, which is basically the same thing that used to be called high capacity trailer tow pkg (still called that on window sticker). Some options automatically trigger the inclusion of that pkg.
I typically buy XLT upper end packages. Anything above that gives me option I would never use or even figure out how to use....
You'll just have to play with the build and price site to see what's included, and not, or view the order guide. What I mentioned as standard on the Lariat and up can be added to the XLT, and may already be forced with the XLT premium pkg.
At 8k bp trailer a diesel is not needed. If you want it that’s fine but the 7.3 will be just fine pulling that if you are trying to keep expenses and maintenance down.
I wouldn't move "up" to a F250 until Ford at least gets the A/C issue worked out.
His profile says he has a '22 F-250, so more like moving "up" to a 2024. The A/C issue would be a potential con when considering a '24. Since he doesn't sound like someone who cares for lots of tech, I'm not sure what the pro's are to moving up to a '24.
I would opt for a F350 just in case you decide you want to upgrade your RV, especially if you go to a 5th wheel.
I would also say the same. Unless your state punishes you for getting a 1ton truck. Having more truck than you need is super handy if you end up moving up to a bigger rig. We started with a 28ft travel trailer and I almost got a 250. My buddy talked me into opting for the 350 for literally only an extra 1k or so at the time. As it would turn out, we ended up upgrading the rig to a 5th wheel and still have plenty of truck left in case we wanted to go just slightly bigger. If however you aren't going to tow much, then the 7.3L might be a winner. The lower maintenance costs and upfront costs might be more sensible then.
350
7.3
4:30 gears
$10k cheaper than the diesel and no annual fuel filter changes, Def, or expensive oil/filter changes
You should get 9-10 mpg pulling that trailer.
I agree. If ordering a new truck, ALWAYS go 7.3 gas with 4.30 axle. The only exception is if you're towing 20,000 lbs. on a weekly basis. The reasons for going with a gas truck are numerous.

I know you love gas and with an 8k trailer I agree but I’m switching to a diesel LONG before 20k
