Growing up in Whittier, our next-door neighbor rented his house out to different families. One of those families was Mexican American. I watched from our garage window as they chopped the heads of chickens. Only once. Never watched it again. Same thing, the body ran around for a little bit before falling over. They used a wooden chopping block and held the head while the chicken did the death dance.
When I have seen it done, the bird was held with the wings behind it's back and upside down. Then the neck was sliced and the blood was drained into a bowl. It's cultural. Nothing is wasted. Not even the blood.
The temp spiked rapidly. We're no longer in flood advisory. Now it's heat advisory. I can see trees blowing in the wind. There's a wind. That's a good sign.
I paid my taxes. I want a refund. Call the President.
I had the pinball specialist out today to work on my White Water and Star Trek The Next Generation pinballs, as well as my "cabaret" style Missile Command. Everything is in top condition now! STTNG got LED's to replace the incandescent bulbs, and a color score display (DMD). WW got the color DMD and a wire repaired that had broken off. It's under warranty so that was nice. The MC got a new connector for the trackball, under warranty since they rebuilt the trackball. Overall I'm quite happy about my budding arcade. The guy was tempting me with news they have a brand spankin' new Iron Maiden pinball. <covers ears and making la la la la noises>
When I was in my 20's I got hooked on a pinball machine called Fire Power. Or at least I thought it was called that. I haven't been able to find it anywhere, but it is a moot point because that thing is so old it would be worth a small fortune by now.
Wow, I couldn't find any info on it the last time I looked, which was about 6 months ago. Back in the day when I played it a lot I checked on the price of one, and it was selling for $700 or so. Price has gone up considerably in the 40 years since.
Owow, have me beat. I was going to brag that it is already 108 here, but that is nothing compared to 117...

That’s MY weather station, the “Official” is 110 about 2 miles away🙄. I can get a 10 degree swing by visiting different locations within a 10 mile radius of the house.
