56 Vent window Gap between window and frame Gap between window and frame
Need a measurement as shown in the photo 'with a tape. My window installer bent the frames installing the glass. Now they are too tall to fit in the doors. I measure both at 16 3/16" and think it should measure more like 16". The other photos show the gap between the window and the vent frame. I think I can force them into shape with a woodworking clamping tool. The window installer went AWOL some time ago. I know the measurement ask is a long shot as not everyone has a 56 and those that do probably have the windows installed. But I thought maybe someone that went with one piece winddows would have window parts laying around.

Reason: Too dumb to proofread
You'll have to remove the glass to bend the ends closer, otherwise the springback will just spring it open as soon as you release the clamp. If you squeeze it enough to overcome the springback, you'll likely break the glass. Did he install it with mounting tape or with sealant?
He used glass tape. I can see now that the rubber seal between the frame and the widow glass was too long and he needed to bend the frame to match the holes for the vent window upper pivot. I am trying to re-install the rubber but I may have to cut 1//2" out of the middle just to match the upper pivot hole and the bottom end where the thumb latch is located. Almost wish I had gone with one piece door windows.
If you still need to know, I finally remembered to measure mine, and they are exactly 14.75" top to bottom outside at the open side. My glass was installed with setting tape, not rubber.
Wanted to close out this thread with success. The u-channel that holds the glass should measure 14.75" as AX Racer said and the u-channel that goes into the door channel should measure 16 to 16 1/8"
I clamped the channel to a work bench and used wood working clamps to slightly re-bend the u-channels to the right dimensions. After that the vent window installed easily with a little liquid soap applied the door channel. Now onto the rest of the door window glass and hardware installation.
