07 f150 engine swap

Okay so I have a 2007 ford f-150 with a 4.2L and I’m trying to put in a 5.4L. So my question is what problems should I be expecting to run into besides the motor mounts. Would it line up with the 4.2L transmission? Cause I know I need to get a new wiring harness and PCM but is there anything else that I’m missing?

The trans you have won't bolt to the 5.4L. And if you were to find an adapter to make it fit, the 5,4L would tear up that trans.

A 4.2 and 4.6 equipped model will have an 8.8” rear axle behind it. The 5.4 uses a 9.75” rear axle and you’ll need the driveshaft and transmission as already alluded to. Radiator is beefier on 5.4 trucks.

At that point, just buy a factory equipped 5.4 truck. Not that I would recommend a 3V 5.4, mind you, if it isn’t brand new out of a crate.
