Haven't been on here in a while because thankfully I haven't had to....till now that is. My rear driveshaft on father's day decided it'd had enough and retired. More specifically the ball joint in the double cardan. Now I'm trying frantically to find something to replace it with since vacation's coming up this weekend. I'm trying to avoid spending 700 on a new shaft since that's part of my vacation money. Anyone know if the rear shaft from any f250 - f-550 would work? None of the yards within over 50 miles have a 4wd Excursion. The shaft cannot be repaired and the shop wants 800 to build a new one also
AFIAK all the trucks have a two piece rear driveshaft.
If there is a truck shaft that’d fit, it would have to be a regular cab short bed truck ( which personally I’ve never seen a regular cab short bed f250, don’t know if ford ever made one).

With your time constraints and the fact that you have a double cardan, you may be in a tight spot here if you need the truck this weekend.
You may be able to get something cheaper than 700 but I don't know about delivery time. Perhaps give fort Wayne a call and have a chat. They may be able to help.
