Dash warning lights and Speedo
…1990 f150…302 4x4 manual lariat …..Couple of things, my blue oem speed sensor went dead and my Speedo would not work..but cruise still worked so I order the doorman replacement from Amazon and it works perfectly I had to remove the Speedo to fit it as you need to push the inner it from the bottom.
i lubed it installed it and now it’s better than before ..so Dorman one from Amazon works well.
second thing. Abs and brake warning light just came on two days ago ..went out for a couple hrs on there own now they are back on.
grounded the black and orange stripe tabs wire and code is 4 flashes.
i checked the connections at the rabs box under the dash ..it looks good ..I checked the connection at the rabs muddle on the frame rail that looks good …no leaks and wiring connection looks very good ..I checked the float in the master and it is up and floating.
i checked the connection at the ram sensor on the diff and that looks good to ….now what ?

There is a small float in the master brake reservoir. If the fluid is low it will turn on the red brake warning light ..
I read somewhere on another post that in one instance there was a problem and it turned on the abs light too..

If the red Brake lamp is energized it will trigger the Yellow ABS lamp. Under those conditions you typically cannot retrieve any RABS codes.
Red brake lamp can be triggered by low brake fluid, sunk master cylinder float or low vacuum signal on diesel engine trucks.
Surprised you could retrieve RABS Code 4.
