A friend has a STX a few years ago. He maintains that it was a "Canadian truck" because it was an STX. I have never found evidence that it was made for the Canadian market. Where would he have gotten this idea?
STX is Ford's base model. They carry that trim US and Canada. Its possible he has a Canada made F-150, but the STX has no designation it is from Canada.
XTR on the other hand is a Canada only model option.
Maybe I'm misremembering the trim and that's why I can't find anything! I wish I could remember what it is that sucks about getting old. Interesting that Canadian truck was found in the Midwest.
My 2014 STX regular cab, short bed, 4X4 was sold new at Violette Ford in Grand Falls in northwestern New Brunswick and now resides here with me in southeastern Ohio. It's a 5.0 that had 69,000 miles on it when I bought it. It was built in Dearborn.
A lot of Canadian trucks are sold in the U.S. Not sure why, maybe the resale value is higher here
Yes, used Canadian trucks are commonly exported to USA, has been a big business for years. Has to do with the low value of the Canadian dollar mostly. Usually no differences, and if it's been imported to USA by a reputable person/dealer then it's all converted to MPH etc.
There was a short time when the Canadian dollar was really strong, and it used to be incredibly cheap for anyone in a border state to buy used ATV's and RV's etc from across the border. Our government made us poor again though....
