52 F1 Accelerator return spring

I've come a long way, still have a way's to go. Tried not to ask dumb questions along the way. My accelerator spring was broken and not in place when I started. I have an new one but I can't find out where it hooks to on the carburetor.

There is a hole in the choke cable mount arm that is used for the return spring:

Thanks for the picture. I didn't list motor, 239. I attached a couple more pictures. Mine has throttle cable also. I do not have a hole in my bracket.

That style bracket should have the hole as well. Are you sure yours didn't get painted shut? (These were always unpainted originally)

I am starting to think I may have painted it. The original finish was so rusted, I had to blast and paint it so I just went looking for pictures.

After looking through a lot of pictures, I think I found one showing what I think was the hole.
Thank you for your persistence to get me to think.
