Engine Identification 360 or 390
So, my truck was in the process of being restored by the previous owner in Arizona and the fellow passed away. His daughter didn’t know what to do with it so she put it up for an auction. Guy in East Hampton bought it, got it running and put the bumper on, then I bought it. I love this truck, but I don’t like being unsure of what’s in it. The VIN calls for a 360 but the guy I bought it from says someone along the line put a 390 in it.
Is there a way to be sure other than measuring displacement somehow? Maybe I could measure a stroke length with a stick? Or is the stroke the same for both engines?
A few people have said she’s got an aftermarket cam, now that the weather is warm I’m hoping to pull a valve cover and take some photos and maybe someone could help identify it.

Awesome thanks so much for that. Going to try and measure today, I feel like a chump not being entirely sure when people ask what’s under the hood.
